Bali 2009 - Day 2 ( Dinner @ Vincent's )

Decided to go Vincent's Restaurant for dinner. This restaurant has a very high review in Bali food forum. One of the famous restaurant in CANDIDASA for western food and Jazz Music.

The menu is a mixture of European and Asian dishes. Once you enter the restaurant you will find yourself in a pretty comfortable setting, with a lounge area, dining area and a terrace where you can dine by candle light under the stars.

Australian Shiraz - rp250,000

Sweet Bun with Garlic Butter

Shrimp in Herb Infused Extra Virgin Olive Oil. - rp43,000

(sorry.. after eat a few shrimp only remember to take photo. there are 6 shrimps)

Sauteed Button Mushroom Brushetta - rp28,000

Grilled Pork Chop Stuffed with Cheese - rp69,000

Catch of The Day - Barramundi top with Mustard Sauce - rp55,000

Creme Brulee - rp33,000

After all, it was a great dinner. Food was very delicious. Very good service from the waiters and very romantic environment. We even book a snorkeling trip for the next day with one of the waiter, who work as a tour guide in the day time.

The price is not very expensive, consider this kind of quality and enviroument. Total bill after 15 % tax came up rp558,900. Around RM180.00. If its without wine the bill will be less than RM100. Very good price!!

Bali 2009 - Day 2 ( Road Trip to AMED)

Wake up at 7:30am. Had our Herbalife Shake for breaky. head to the hotel pool side to lepak and enjoy the the great morning sun & sea breeze. Very nice view and comfortable Hanging Bed Gazebo. After relaxing for about half hour, we took the free shuttle provided by the hotel to Candidasa town. Only 5mins from the hotel and basically the town is only a 500m street, with some convenient store and restaurant at the road side.

Candidasa is a very quite and relax town in Eastern Bali. Its less tourist here, less traffic and less noise. Candidasa is famous for their crystal clear water and colourful coral. No night life here.

When we reach the town, my 1st objective is to rent a motorbike. only took me a few minutes walk on the street and saw a bike rental. Wanted a big 150cc bike but they dont have it. only scooter is available. No choice and rented the scooter for 2 days which cost me rp80,000. strap on helmet and head to petrol station, pump full tank. rp4500 per liter. cheaper than Malaysia. and now we are ready for our adventurous road trip to AMED. 9:30am.

My airport transfer driver recommend me for this road trip. All mountain road and its famous for their scenery along to east coast line. According to him along the road are the BEST SCENERY IN BALI.

Started in Candidasa town, (red line)head to Amlapura Town. Having some difficulty finding the way to UJUNG TOWN cause i dont have a detail east bali road map. Go a few round in the town, stop by and ask some local. and we reach UJUNG in no time.

Go on and we reach SERAYA. Looking around and finding way to SERAYA TIMUR. The road are mostly going up the mountain and heading in some jungle road. Road are getting smaller and smaller and more holes. some are only dirt road. Looking around saw a few kampung house and local working on the Rice Field. After around 15mins in the jungle road. Decide to stop and rest for 5 mins.

Continue on our road, pass by some small villages. Saw a few groups of small kids, once they see a tourist pass by, they will waive their hand and say "HELLO!!!" to you with a big smile. some even give you a "high five". damm cute!!

After another 15mins drive, head up to a hill top and saw the coast line again. Ehh... something is wrong. How come the coast line is on my left side?? im suppose to travel north thru east coast road, the coast line is suppose to be on my right side!!! Still wondering but i still decide to continue driving.

Pass by some locals and reach a very steep hill. My bike is merely going to move. really worry that the engine cannot take it. Hmmm.... something is not right. turn back and ask the local for direction. Guess what... WRONG WAY DUDE!!! hahahahaa.... im at SERAYA BARAT, im suppose to go SERAYA TIMUR!! very obvious that BARAT & TIMUR is a totally opposite direction!! So have to drive all the way back... reach a small town, ask locals for direction, and only we know that we took a wrong turn at a junction.

After all, we still enjoy the unnecessary ride. At least we have been to somewhere that there is not much tourist will go. And we got a chance to see the balinese real kampung life. I always think its actually FUN to get LOST!!! haha..... ( luckily i pump full tank )

So, continue our journey. hope that we are on the right way this time. Ask a few more locals on the way to reconfirm the direction. At last, we reached SERAYA TIMUR.



The scenery along this stretch of road is really marvelous!! One side are blue sky and blue sea, the other side are all greens and mountain. Stop by some scenary spot to take some photo. reach a small hill top and saw WAWA-WEWE Rock Restaurant. This place is call Aas. Look out from the hill top and WOW... really the best view i have ever see in BALI. So we decide to stop here for our lunch. Its already 1:30pm by now and we are on the road for almost 4 hours!!

After lunch, apply more sun lotion & continue on our road. took another half hour to reach AMED. Amed is a tourist spot with a lot of cliff side hotel and its famous for Diving.

Reach CULIK. The turning point to head back to Candidasa. These are the photo between Culik & Abang stretch of road. very nice greenie view.

After pass ABANG town. We reach TIRTAGANGGA ROYAL WATER GARDEN.

Tirtagangga royal watergarden are composed mainly by water, gardens and sculptures. It is situated in the middle of rice fields around the natural springs of Rejasa, approximately 7 km. (5 miles) north of Amlapura, the main town of east Bali, Indonesia. It belongs to the royal family of Karangasem.

This is our last stop. Pass Amlapura Town again and back to Candidasa at 4:30pm. Thats the end of our road trip. Took almost 7 hours. What a fun day. Back to hotel, shower and rest. Wait for dinner time.

Bali 2009 ---- DAY 1

After waited for 1 whole year, at last we are going back to BALI for our 2nd visit. wahahaha....

i've waited for sooooo damm long for my BINTANG BEER!!!!

Bought Airasia ticket during promotion. RM216 for 2 of us return!! cheap ya.. hehe....

Fly from KL to Bali at 11:45am. Had a very horrible Fried Rice with Satay and Foccacia Sandwiche in flight. Wanted my Nasi Lemak but they dont have it. damm it.... will not order any other food in Airasia flight in my life again except Nasi Lemak or Cup Noodle.

Arrive 2:45pm. When we reach the airport, saw so many tourist at the custom. Luckily for us Malaysian, visa is not necessary. So we line-up at the different line, which is shorter. Pity all those mat salleh, have to line-up for hours to get out of the custom. I can feel how they feel at that time. hahaha....

Its good to buy a front seat for Airasia, start from 6th row only cost u RM5 each, so that you can get out from the plane faster and get in front of the line. Get out of custom pretty fast, like less than half hour. Then when we reach the arrival gate, saw so many drivers holding all the tourist names. took 1 min to look for my name. get up to the car, and head to Candidasa, East Bali.

The road to CANDIDASA took around 2 hours from the airport. Hired a driver online and cost me rp300,000. stop half way to get some mineral water for Faye and my beloved BINTANG BEER!! After the 1st sip, then only i feel that im really in BALI now!!oh yeah.... My 1st beer since a month ago. Enjoy the view around the road & talk some cock with the driver.

Check-in RAMA CANDIDASA HOTEL around 5:30pm. Get into our room and start unpacking. The room is not very big actually, but clean. The lights are a bit dim though. We book this hotel thru our timeshare. So didnt expect much from it.

Feels damm hungry since our last horrible meal in Airasia flight, head to the hotel restaurant. GARPU RESTAURANT. Ordered a TOM YUM GONG, NASI CAMPUR & SOTO AYAM. Taste ok ok only. From online this is a very high review restaurant. I think maybe they are famous for their western food, but not local food. Saw most of the customer order western food. So i cant judge this restaurant. Too hungry, didnt manage to take any food photo. Dinner cost us around rp300,000+.

After dinner, head back to the room, shower and sleep at 9:30pm. Just too tired for a long day travel.
